Beauty: My Favourite Treats for Bath and Body

Being home last weekend made me realise how much I miss having a bath at University. With a candle in the corner, and the lights dimmed, a bath can really change your mental attitude. The products I enjoy using the most are not so cheap, but the lifetime and properties within the formula make them worth every penny. So if you want some new bath treats, or if you think any of the products I mention may be a suitable mother's day present - keep reading.

We'll start with Laura Mercier - undoubtedly my favourite skin care brand for the body. My favourite scent personally is the ambre vanillè which ranges in consistency from a body wash, to a body butter and soufflé. However before the bath, my favourite product to use is the body scrub made from crushed vanilla seeds. This really nourishes your body, and the best way I can describe the texture is being slightly grainy, a very soft exfoliant as opposed to some products which have quite harsh grains that can cause redness of the skin. Both the jojoba oil and Pro-Vitamin B-5 qualities in this product leave your skin feeling so soft after one wash.

The second product is one I got as a birthday present in 2015, and has still lasted me till now. Though admittedly I only use it in small quantity and as a treat, I still cannot deny how long lasting these formulas are! Using the ladle as though you are using a pot of honey, gently take one ladleful and hover this under the bath tap. This develops a rich and soft set of vanilla infused bubbles that gives a good pampering. My skin feels amazing after this and I feel at ease.

Ted Baker is my go to brand. Ask me where my pink coat is from, my sweaters, or purse - it's Ted. However, I am often sceptical about using products from companies that are more concentrated on clothing as opposed to being a skincare range. Nevertheless, I can safely say Ted's body lotion and a couple of Victoria's Secret's products are great. The grapefruit, mandarin and mango body lotion comes in a larger bottle as pictured, or in smaller on the go size tubes, and smells divine. As for the Victoria Secret fragrance, 'Tease' is my favourite, and I find the fragrance mist as opposed to the noir eu de parfum gives a softer scent for day time wear. Nougat's nurturing hand cream is equally always in my handbag in winter months. Rub this into both the hands and cuticles to make the most out of this product!

Now to Jo Malone. Admittedly, this brand is a larger love of my Mum's - however I do enjoy using the bath oils. The scents pictured are red roses, and wood sage with sea salt. My personal favourite Jo Malone fragrance is Pomegranate Noir however, which smells its best in either candle form or as the spray. Returning to the oil however. The feeling of this when in the bath is an unusual silky soft feeling, like you're body is surrounded by a mass of velvety, luxurious shower gel. When the bottom of the bath becomes slippery because of the oils, you know they're working their magic. This oil can also be used directly on the skin, however I've refrained from doing this due to having a more sensitive side to my skin, but I'd thought I'd still highlight that possibility.

It is so important to get good rest and treat yourself. I tell myself every day to spend a little more time concentrating on my body and its needs. It can be something simple like drinking more water, or going to the gym. Bath's however are my best and most favourite activity for relaxation. If you're a shower person, which many people are, try some of these products and I feel you may be swayed. Equally, if you're not a fan of the sweet flavours I enjoy, all the brands I've stated have many fragrances to suit your particular aroma. If you are like me however, a crazy bath lover, and have to wait a while to get back to your tub, perhaps buy one of these for next time - I promise you you'll love it and will be so worth the wait!
All my LittleMauve Love,
Hannah x
